Gautam Gambhir is considered as one the stylish openers in Indian cricket. being playing with the Indian national side since 2003, he has made several occasions to make his country proud. Though he came to the national team, during the golden era of Indian ‘Fab Four’. But he can be considered to be one of the few players who never went under their shadow. Gautam Gambhir will be remembered by the Indian cricketing fans for two games in which he played an important role. The first one would be his much-needed innings against Pakistan in the finals of 2007 T20 world cup. Being an opener, he stood firm at one side and did his thing while the team losing wickets on the other end. His 75 ensured a decent total to defend against Pakistan and eventually win the world cup.

His second best innings, which the fans never forget is the finals of 2011 world cup against Sri Lanka. His 97 once again helped team India defend a nice total against Lanka and eventually won it.
